Wicked Lovely Films produces the sexual assault horror short, "Little Red's Pie, " starring Adrian Snow, Jeremiah Ocanas, Doreene Hamilton and Lee Dawson. "Little Red's Pie" is the first of a series of experimental short horror films on social topics.

Black Kungfu Chick holds a pre-launch introductory event sponsored by Cielo Galleries and co-hosted by Skira Martinez and Teka Lark Fleming. Table read with La'Raia Gribble and Jim Lau and presentation by producer-director Rae Shaw.

Now casting for MALENA'S DANCE, the promo short for the feature, SALSA MILLENIA. MALENA'S DANCE will shoot in Spring 2016.

Wicked Lovely Films attended the Los Angeles Produced By Conference and connected with Our Stories Films, Joyride Entertainment, Pmk Bnc, and Edge of a Dream Productions.

December 2014

The Repass hosts a google+ hangout with director-producer Rae Shaw, Professor Valorie Thomas and artist Zeal Harris. The discussion revolves around elements of Afrofuturism and Prof. Thomas' ideological construct, Diasporic Vertigo, in The Repass and the work of Zeal Harris. 

November 2014

The Repass launches our early pre-production funding campaign to count down to production and the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. This event was held at Cielo Galleries and co-hosted by Wicked Lovely Films, Cielo Galleries and Teka Lark Fleming of The Blk Grrrl Show. Visit The Repass on Indiegogo to support us. We can only make this film with supporters like you. The campaign is led by social media strategist and photographer Robin Diakhate.

Also in November The Repass attaches producer Eric Adams (Supremacy, Archie's Final Project) of Sleeperwave Films to The Repass. Eric Adams and Rae Shaw attend AFM and meet with international sales company Double Dutch Media to discuss funding and sales for the project.

Wicked Lovely Films attended the IFP Filmmakers' Conference in New York City. We connected with a number of film organizations including Sundance Artist Services, Sony Pictures Classics, CineReach, Film Nation, Bit Torrent, Gamechanger Films, and Dogfish Accelerator. We also attended a Rooftop Films event in Brooklyn and Director's Conversation with Ava Duvernay at the Urbanworld Film Festival. We had the privilege to connect with fellow filmmakers Kenny Hargrove, Emily Branham, Bat-Sheva Guez, and documentarian Heather White. 

July 2014

Wicked Lovely Films producers Rae Shaw and Ashunda Norris along with writer-producer Kelly Wright attended the Diversity Speaks panels and brunch  and Women Directors panel at the Los Angeles Film Festival. Panelists included Gina Prince Bythewood, Nicole Holofcener, Debra Granik, Mynette Louie and TV legend Marta Kaufman. We also connected with producer-writer Eric J Adams of Sleeperwave Films. 

Rae Shaw and actress-director Marie Francoise Theodore also attended the Galerie Lakaye Artists Salon in West Hollywood. Galerie Lakaye is a Haitian art gallery in West Hollywood.

February 2014

The Repass trailer shoots in Santa Ana, California in Orange County at the Heritage Museum of Orange County. It is a 2-day shoot. Producers Ashunda Norris, Beverlee Gale and Kim Xiong were instrumental in completing production. Mike Solidum was director of photography, art director was Nicole Frederick and 1st AD was Kecia Benson. Conrad Reardon, 2nd AD and location scout was essential in helping lock this location. Special thanks to Tracy Yu.

January 2014

TV actor Ray Auxais comes aboard to play the character Effrayant thanks to the efforts of casting director Tiffanny Nelson. Tiffanny also brings aboard Haitian American actor Vladimir Versailles to play the role of Baron Samedi.

Wicked Lovely Films continues their fundraising campaign with Team Repass on cause-based site Razoo. We redesigned our site to really focus on the causes that The Repass supports: girlpower, dance, Haitian culture, grief and healing, and community-based action. Visit our website to learn more about how you can JOIN in supporting us. We also hold an event fundraiser Sept 27, time and venue to be announced. 

August 2013

Wicked Lovely Films launches a Kickstarter campaign for The Repass to raise development and packaging funds. Funds raised will go to assist in the making of a trailer and securing talent for the project. Visit out website on Kickstarter to check out cool concept sketches and get a wonderful reward. The campaign runs from Aug 6 to Sept 6. Don't miss out on a great opportunity to be a part of the making of a fantatic film.

February 2013

Wicked Lovely Films applies to SFFS for KRF development funds to explore dance sequences for Repass with the Bay Area Haitian Dance Troupe Ra Ra Toulimen. We also apply to CalHumanities for their Community Stories Fund and receive fiscal sponsorship with Media Arts Center San Diego.  The California Library Association becomes a supporter of the library project and associate executive director Natalie Cole and professor and historian Cindy Mediavilla join the project as development consultants.

November 2012

Wicked Lovely Films attends AFM and meets with former UM classmate Samir Salem, former Judith Weston classmate Adam Lipsius, Double Dutch Media, and Arrow Entertainment. Wicked Lovely Films also attends Magnet Media Financing Conference and meets producer Robert Brown, producer's rep Jonathan Dana, and Quebec Transfilm producer, Jonathan Vanger.  Ava B's House of Film becomes a possible distributor for Repass.

October 2012

Wicked Lovely Films joins Film Specific and attends Film Independent's Filmmaker Forum. At Indielink we meet with Sundance Institute, the Mississippi Film Commission, and Fledgling Fund. Wicked Lovely Films also joins Akua Boyenne's Legal Secrets class on contracts within the entertainment industry. 

September 2012

At the Reel Ladies Luncheon Wicked Lovely Films meets Jeanette Burling of Magnet Media and filmmakers Marie Francoise Theodore, Laura Black, and  reconnects with former OBS president Sylvia Franklin, now a producer. Wicked Lovely Films travels to NYC for IFP's Independent Film Week and attends IFP Meet the Filmmakers Conference.  We meet fellow filmmakers Sascha Just and Megaballs producer Marc Baron and connect with Catapult Film Fund, ITVS,  and Cinemart regarding the California libraries project. Wicked Lovely Films co-sponsors the photography exhibition, Moments in the Continuum ,with Cordially Invited honoring the work of Robin Diakhate.

Zzyzx Writerz teams with Wicked Lovely Films to produce Poetrypalooza 2011, a 10-day, 10 location citywide poetry festival and contest that celebrates poetry's continued expression through music, theater, writing and the spoken word. Wicked Lovely Films partners with Kimberly Cobian of ZzyzX WriterZ Group and Henry Chow of Cinema Poetry Productions and Kimberly Cobian to produce Mujer de Fruta based on the the poem written by Kimberly Cobian.

Repass Cinematographer Austin Schmidt’s work can be seen in the film, “The Mystery Team,” screening in the Sundance Film Festival 2009.

Repass Sound Supervisor, Sam Londe, receives a 2008 Emmy for OUTSTANDING INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENT IN A CRAFT: MUSIC AND SOUND for "America at a Crossroads," "OPERATION HOMECOMING: Writing the Wartime Experience" 

Repass Music Composer S. Peace Nistades, performs one of seven pieces at 
the PRAKOMPLENG PRALENG TAWAI MEMORIAL CONCERT. ChulaRadio FM 101.5 MHz in association with the Office of the Natural Cultural Commission of Thailand and Thai PBS proudly presents the "PRAKOMPLENG PRALENG TAWAI" Memorial Concert for Princess Galyani Vadhana of Thailand. The concert is performed by the CU Symphony Orchestra and Choir and is conducted by Nora-ath Chanklum. The concert features the pieces from 7 of Thailand's prominent composers featured in the CD Project of the same name. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will be presiding over the concert. 


October 2008

Repass is a finalist in the Austin Heart of Film Screenplay Competition.

Actress Judith Scott sponsors a table reading of Repass with actress Donzaleigh Abernathy reading the role, “Ynetha” and Long Nguyen reading the role of “Dominic.”


September 2008

Wicked Lovely Films co-sponsors a series of filmmaker workshops with OBS (Organization of Black Screenwriters) on budgeting, scheduling, and casting for films. Among the panelist for the workshops were Donzaleigh Abernathy, Aisha Coley and Ava DuVernay.
